REAL ID Deadline May 2025
Effective May 7, 2025, only the REAL ID, a U.S. passport and other federally approved identification will be permitted at TSA airport security checkpoints for domestic travel. Travelers without a REAL ID or Passport will not be able to pass through TSA checkpoints to board their flight.

Frontier Starts Nonstop Service to Las Vegas
Frontier’s return to TUS is off to a strong start with positive booking trends to their first nonstop destination Denver, CO, and a second nonstop destination Las Vegas, NV, on the horizon starting May 22, 2025. Frontier offers an ultra-low-cost product that lets customers customize their travel experience with ancillary services.

TUS Launches Influencer Campaign: We Make It Easy to Fly!
TUS was thrilled to welcome TravelCon 2025, a group of travel creators and brands to the Sonoran Desert. This travel conference provided the airport an opportunity to land brand partnerships with travel creators around the world. During spring break, TUS partnered with University of Arizona college student influencers to visualize the easy travel experience from main campus to TUS. Meet the Talented MJ Okawa
MJ Okawa is an accomplished silk painter based in Chandler, Arizona, whose work masterfully blends traditional Japanese silk painting techniques with contemporary design. Drawing inspiration from the beauty of nature, her vibrant landscapes and botanical pieces are characterized by saturated jewel tones, intricate metallic gutta outlines, and an unparalleled depth of texture.

With a career spanning decades as a visual artist and arts educator, MJ’s creations have been showcased in galleries and exhibitions across the country, earning recognition for their ability to evoke joy, wonder, and introspection. Each piece reflects her artistic journey, inspired by her travels, cultural connections, and a lifelong passion for bringing art to life.
Through her work, MJ celebrates the harmony of East and West, inviting viewers to connect with the natural world and find beauty in every detail.

The TAA is proud sponsor of the Greater Tucson Leadership's (GTL) "Community Impact Awards" in April. GTL and their Youth Leadership program have been actively developing the next generation of leaders for Southern Arizona, specifically engaging high school students in the community to develop their leadership abilities and career readiness. What makes this unique and important to the TAA is their focus on careers within the field of aviation. The TAA has been an active participant in their aviation career days, sharing knowledge on aviation, and helping to foster the growth of our industries next generation of leaders. The TAA is proud to be a community partner with an organization like GTL that supports innovation and education in the field of aviation. In addition, TAA Board Member Calline Sanchez is being recognized as ‘Woman of the Year’ for her contributions to our Southern Arizona community.
